So lately I’ve been thinking and reading and listening about the new Creation. The Offspring of the Last Adam. The righteousness of Christ. Who we are. I’m still fighting with myself on it. It seems too good and too big to be true. And yet this is Truth
Maximus the Confessor ” Christianity is an entirely New way of being Human” Being born again is the entry point to the new creation.
Aranais ” The glory of God is a Human Being Fully Alive” 2 century A.D.
Jesus didn’t come to make you religious He came to make you fully alive, and until Jesus has His way with you and through you, you are not yet fully alive. ” Brian Zahnd.
Jesus having His way with me, with my heart. It’s a strange concept I’ve been struggling with. I mean…a part me is telling God.  “What do you think you are doing?  I invited you in here remember”? You can’t just act like you own me. I mean that’s not the way my democratic theology works.
Can one invite a King? I say “no” . You receive a King by submitting to him. I was talking with my brother John a few months ago, I was discussing Jesus. I love talking to John. That guy doesn’t hold back any punches when it comes to thinking. I was just kind of musing and blathering on about Jesus. When I started thinking about Jesus being God. Then I started to get a sense of what the disciples encountered in conversation. Imagine you’re talking to this guy the Messiah. If he’s the Messiah, then that means he’s never wrong. So what do you do with a person who’s talking to you and He’s never wrong? No matter what your philosophies, no matter how your parents raised you. Jesus doesn’t disagree with someone. He presents the unshakable, unchanging, infallible Truth of God in every action and word. So I asked John…”what do you do with somebody like that?” His answer was profound. He simply said with the most truth I’ve heard come out of someones mouth in long time. “You can’t do anything with that except submit completely to everything that person says”
Luke 6:46 “So why do you call me ‘Lord,’ when you won’t obey me?
Not only is Jesus always right, He’s perfect and so is His will for us. He’s a perfect Father with perfect Love. It’s awesome, He’s everything we really want and everything we need. He is life and life abundantly. There is nothing wrong with the Righteousness of God. There is no oppression in perfection.
